Jakemy Screwdriver Kit

This toolkit is amazing. As you know, I was happy with my Synsus Toolkit, but this one definitely beats it for the mere $7 extra. And the orange! I love orange!

I decided on this one because even though I loved my Synsus kit, it lacked the screen separator. I began pricing these out separately and found them anywhere from $4-20. I figured I needed another toolkit anyways (Home, Work, and Travel Bag) I would order this for my Travel Bag.

Main Tool: The handle is a bit thicker than I am used to or prefer, but after just two projects it’s already grown on me. It is light enough to be easily handled and maneuvered when it comes to phones, but is also strong enough to handle Desktop / LCD / TV screws. I don’t recommend using this tool for them, but it does work. This is where the secondary driver (noted below) comes in.

Repair: My first project for today was an iPhone 6 Plus – which as you can see needed a new Power Button Assembly. As soon as the Pentelobes were out I put this separator to use – and it works wonderfully! Even when screens are already broken you want to use special care when attaching your suction cup and definitely be mindful of how much pressure is being used. This tool took the entire headache away. I even tested it on project #2 – an HP Laptop.

Laptops: Now this is what really separates this setup from other electronics kits. There is a hand driver included with Philips/Flat tips – this was great for the laptop. It definitely took any worry out of stripping screws which is another hassle when it comes to these universal kits

I’d have to say the nice additional touch for me was the pump. I was able to use it on the laptop and see some particles fly off. Of course I hit it with my compressed air afterwards, but since we don’t all carry a can of air this is a great piece to have.

If you’re considering getting into electronics repairs OR looking for a totally solid kit – this is the way to go.

My only complaint is the Separator and Opener both feel flimsy (plastic feel, but sturdy) rather than feel like a solid tool. The opener works, but it’s for lighter devices than I had imagined. Aside from these two – everything else is great!

Syntus Precision Magnetic Repair Kit

For the most part I haven’t purchased many kits when it comes to repairs. I’ve been happy with my separate tool kits hanging on my wall – all within reach.

As a traveling tech though, it’s not fun carrying a large tool bag – especially when you’re merely repairing an iPhone, Laptop, or Desktop device!

I was looking for something portable, sexy, and cheap. Sure, there is the $59.99 iFixIt Kit – but I’ll save that order for a future employee when I hand this one down!

Behold – The Syntus 80 -N – 1 Precision Toolkit!

As an Amazon Prime member, this baby arrived right next to my replacement iPhone 6 Plus Rear Camera. (Review Later)

What I love most is it’s not overly magnetic. I prefer smaller form screwdrivers so the size feels natural, and the material is solid. The metal tools are great for separating parts in Desktops or Laptops, and of course it includes the plastic tools as well for phones or tablets.

I’m not going to over every individual tool – but from the page you can see all of the included tools. I’ve found them all to be very solid! The paint brush is a nice touch when it comes to dusting 🙂

I would definitely order this again, and obviously recommend it to other technicians. Up next will be my review for the Jakemy Screwdriver Set. Since I’m scheduled for repairs – I’ll include some action shots in that review!
